International friendship Day is the day for celebrating with your circle of friends. Friendship is a special form of interpersonal relationship based on respect, trust and other values like honesty, tolerance, mutual understanding and compassion.
This day is celebrated all over the world, generally on July 30. However, some countries like mine celebrate it on September. In Colombia friends use to give each other flowers, chocolates, friendship letters, teddy bears or just special gifts. Friendship is related with love and that´s why lovers also enjoy this day. People love to celebrate friendship just as Halloween or Christmas. Restaurants, bars, and clubs get really crowded. I guess friends think that hanging out together is the best way to honor, appreciate and thank each other for all those great moments they had lived.
Finally I would like to share with you this beautiful poem I found:
A friend is someone who cares
Someone who is always there
A friend is someone special
Someone who you can tell everything
A friend is someone who will never betray you
No matter who doesn't like you
A friend is someone you can trust
Someone kind of like you.
